Through her exceptional dedication to improving business landscapes in Cambodia, Madam Sok Im has embarked on various business ventures since late 1990s including trading, real estate investment and most recently Information and Communications Technology (ICT).
Without hesitation, she has started developing a team of young and experienced entrepreneurs to lead business expansion in the field of ICT. She foresees significant contributions of technology towards daily lives of not only businesses, financial institutions, government sector but also individual consumers ranging from communication, data storage infrastructure and maximising work efficiency to achieving seamless data integration.
She founded SINET, a leader in Cambodia as Internet and Telecom Service Provider with strong focus on engineering excellence and reliability. Under her leadership, SINET has since owned and operated over 200 active network POPs across Cambodia, not only in main cities and provincial towns but also in remote districts and villages.
With continuous endeavour to developing ICT sector in Cambodia, she has further expanded her business venture into Colocation Data Centres. In 2020, she founded Chaktomuk Data Center as the first Tier III Plus Data Centre In Cambodia with state-of-the-art technology, and reliable data protection and support. She believes the journey does not stop here, and will continue to grow the ICT sector in years to come.
Steven grew up through the Singapore education system for 15 years, specializing in Banking and Finance. Since young, Steven has a vision of bringing the high financial standard in Singapore to help develop the business in Cambodia.
In the steps to achieving this goal, Steven found his first job working for DBS Bank in Singapore. In 2008, he decided to pursue his dream by returning to Cambodia and join SINET. Currently the Vice President of Sayon, his extensive knowledge in technology helps to bring new ideas and improvements to the group. Steven is also well-versed in 4 languages, a key advantage that allows him to build network with different business partners. Despite his young age, Steven is touted as a future leader to lead the group into a new era.
Sodanin received her Bachelor Degree in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University and Master Degree in Public Administration from Cornell University in the United States of America. When she returned to Cambodia in 2014, she served in the Ministry of Economy & Finance.
In 2016, Sodanin decided to pursue her career in the private sector by joining SINET as Head of Human Resources. She has since worked across departments to develop a good culture, drive excellence and best practices within SINET. During this period, her ambition led her to establish a new business by working with Linguaphone Group Ltd, to bring Pingu English School franchise from the United Kingdom to Cambodia in 2018. She leads this business in her role as a Managing Director.
From her experience managing business and Human Resources, Sodanin brings with her the skillsets and wide array of knowledge to take up new challenges in her role as Vice President of Sayon. Her mission is to steer the group towards its goals.
Meta is the Group CEO of Sayon and serves on its Board of Directors.
Before being named Sayon Group CEO in 2021, Meta has been SINET’s CEO and responsible for building SINET’s new telecom infrastructure from scratch and leading SINET to become one of the leading operators in Cambodia. He is also leading Chaktomuk Data Center business development, design, construction and operation.
Prior to joining SINET, Meta spent almost 6 years working for an Internet Service Provider in Madagascar. Prior to his work in Madagascar, Meta was a System and Network Administrator in Telstra Bigpond.
Meta earned a Master Degree in IT Management from Carnegie Mellon University. With more than 12 years spent in different countries in Africa, US and Australia, he is fluent in English, French and Khmer.
Group General Manager
Sothy is the General Manager of Sayon and a member of its Board of Directors. Sothy is responsible for leading the property development, design and construction projects. In addition, Sothy is also responsible for managing all property management services of Sayon and its subsidiary companies.
Joining SI Group in 2005 after having served in the Ministry of Tourism for almost 20 years, Sothy used his vast knowledge of Cambodia geography to construct office buildings throughout Cambodia. It is fundamental for SINET’s utilization of its buildings to build its network infrastructure. Today, SINET operates more than 200 network POPs and offices across all main cities, provincial towns and remote villages. Since 2019, Sothy leads Chaktomuk Data Center development project, which will begin to operate soon in 2022.
Sothy received a Master Degree of International Tourism and Hospitality Management from Bangkok University International.
Having embarked on the field of Finance with specialization in cross border taxation for over 11 years, Chan Pheng has vast experience in the areas of group company’s investments/divestment, cross-border group structuring to maximize shareholders’ investments with key focus on forecasting, cost-benefit analysis, and obtaining funding for various projects/initiatives.
Chan Pheng has worked for various Multi-National Companies (MNCs) over the years including private equity group, consulting firm, downstream oil and gas and a conglomerate with interests in maritime, agri-solutions, property and data center. His significant contributions include successful equity injection to 3 Indonesian shipyards and merger to eliminate tax dispute worth USD5m per year and complete dividend/cash repatriation from Malaysia group back to shareholder worth USD64m with tax exemption in Singapore.
Chan Pheng obtained scholarship from Singapore government in 2007 and graduated from Nanyang Technological University in Economics, with specialization in Banking and Finance.
